DIABETES MELLITUS

Diabetes is a life style related condition due to an imbalance in handling a glucose load or disorders of carbohydrate metabolism. where glucose is not taken up by the cells of the body from the blood. But Diabetes mellitus is not a disease, It is the chronic conditions related to several life with an end result of complications. Which is related to early aging changes, resulting in blockage of small and large arteries.

As we all know the normal fasting blood sugar range is 70 to 120 mg per 100ml of blood and post prandial blood sugar after two hours of meals should be up to 140mg/100ml of blood. Persons who are not within this range are considered as diabetic patient. and do practise yoga asana for diabetes mellitus.

Types of Diabetes mellitus

Mainly two type of diabetes are most important, They are : Type-1 diabetes and Type-2 diabetes.

Type-1 diabetes mellitus

If someone have Type-1 diabetes, your pancreas produces very low amounts of insulin, then it’s called Insulin dependent diabetes mellitus. Which is sometimes abbreviated with the use of the letters IDDM. Since this type occurs most often, but not exclusively in youth and young adults, it used to be called juvenile onset diabetes.

People with type -1 diabetes must among other things, they inject themselves daily with insulin. Without daily injections, they will not survive.

Type-2 diabetes mellitus

If someone have Type-2 diabetes, your pancreas produces of insulin levels is good but it is either not enough for the present needs of your body or the cells of your body are unable to use it properly. This type of diabetes is called Non-insulin dependent diabetes mellitus, which is sometimes abbreviated with the use of the letters NIDDM.

It can usually be controlled without the use of insulin injection. Until recently, this type was also referred to as maturity onset diabetes, since it occurs much often in mature adults, 40 years of age and older.
